Jalen Harvey and Derek Mahaffey have played a lot of football against each other.
Now they’ll have a chance to play alongside one another.
The two defensive tackles recently committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from junior college programs, and each will have three seasons to play for the Mocs.
“I know Jalen real well,” Mahaffey said Monday. “That’s my homie.”
Their commitments are nonbinding, but they would become only the second and third junior college transfer to play for the Mocs in Russ Huesman’s seven years as head coach. The recently graduated Jeremiah Hay was the other.
