President Barack Obama’s huge socialized medical care bill is in trouble for many big reasons. So he says he is willing to settle for less now — surely hoping to add more later.
The main reason ObamaCare is in trouble is that a great many Americans realize the federal government is more than $12 trillion in debt, is heading toward $14 trillion in debt because of excess spending despite high taxes, and that ObamaCare would add more than a trillion dollars more in red ink.
President Obama not only wants to undercut private and employee-employer-provided health insurance, but he also wants to add millions of uninsured people to socialized medicine. He doesn’t say how he would pay for it — so taxpayers suspect the answer.
Everyone surely wants all of our people to have whatever medical care is really needed, but most Americans realize it isn’t “free.” They don’t want higher taxes and rapidly increasing national debt, on which taxpayers must already pay tremendous interest costs.
Mr. Obama is not proposing medical and cost solutions. He is proposing more big medical and cost problems.
It is better to realize that now than to give in to him and suffer terrible consequences later.
