“It’s been too long since rock ‘n’ roll turned you on.”
That lyric not only anchors the chorus on the track of Jonathan Tyler and The Northern Lights’ latest album, “Pardon Me,” it also reflects the Dallas-based rock band’s old-school ambitions.
“It’s more of an attitude, you know, a spirit to the music we’re trying to bring back rather than a sound or style,” Tyler said during a phone interview from his Dallas home during a weeklong touring hiatus.
“We’re trying to have fun and make music that people can actually know what we’re talking about and connect to.”
Thursday, Tyler and crew will take the stage at Rhythm & Brews alongside Pennsylvania rockers Halestorm and Charleston, S.C.-based musical palindrome Madam Adam.
