Lookout Valley Elementary gets new principal

Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Jim Scales today announced Regina Brock as the new principal at Lookout Valley Elementary School.

Ms. Brock, currently assistant principal at Harrison Elementary and Lakeside Academy, begins her new duties on July 1 and replaces Justin Robertson, who is moving to Brown Middle School.

This year Ms. Brock participated in the principal workshops, a partnership between the school system and the Public Education Foundation, for aspiring principals.

“Ms Brock will be a great fit for Lookout Valley Elementary,” Dr. Scales said. “I knew right off she participated in the principal workshops. She knew her information and I am confident she will work with the Lookout Valley staff, students, parents and community members to continue traditions and improve student achievement.”

Ms. Brock began her career in education in 1978 as a teacher at Eastside Elementary in Dalton, Georgia. She moved to Hamilton County in 1985 as a teacher at Hixson Elementary before moving to Lakeside Elementary in 1996 as a second grade teacher. She became the primary science lab teacher at Lakeside Academy in 1999.

She was promoted to assistant principal at Lakeside Academy in 2006 and began to split her time between Harrison Elementary and Lakeside Academy in 2008. Ms. Brock holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Reading from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She graduated from the Master’s School Leadership Program at UTC in 2006.
