NBC and Ellen DeGeneres, executive producer for the new dating series “First Dates,” are seeking single men and women in Tennessee who are interested in going on a first date.
NBC has ordered eight episodes of “First Dates,” an observational documentary series from DeGeneres and Shed Media that takes a peek at what happens when a couple meets for the first time and love may be in the air.
Based on a hit United Kingdom format, the hour-long series offers an authentic look at a variety of real first dates happening over one night at the same restaurant.
Single men and women ages 18 and up may apply to be interviewed. Those selected for taping an episode will be set up with someone who shares similar interests and tastes. There is no competition, no eliminations’ it’s just a “First Date.” Where it goes from there is up to the couple.
Apply at www.firstdatescasting.com. Production will begin in July in Chicago. No premiere date is set.
