Covenant to hand over Quest program

Covenant College, which announced last year that financial woes were forcing it to close its adult degree program, plans to hand over its popular Quest nontraditional degree program to Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.

Covenant officials said the transition won’t affect jobs or the quality of courses offered to the 400 full-time and part-time adult students enrolled in the program.

“We are committed to delivering to students the program as it has been represented,” said Dr. Jeff Hall, vice president for academic affairs.

Quest, which will retain its name under Belhaven, will continue to offer an organizational management major in Chattanooga and North Georgia. Belhaven will add new undergraduate and graduate degree programs at the sites.

Dr. Roger Parrott, president of Belhaven, praised the “bold vision” and “unique blend of our institutions’ strengths” in a statement.
