A North Georgia man was sentenced today to 15 years in prison for child pornography crimes.
U.S. District Judge Harry S. “Sandy” Mattice gave 57-year-old Gary Salles the mid-range sentence after reviewing all the undercover documents again in response to a request from Mr. Salles’ defense attorney.
Mr. Salles’ sentencing was expected last Monday, but his defense attorney, Mary Ellen Coleman, asked to postpone another week.
Last May, Mr. Salles pleaded guilty to transporting child pornography across state lines and trying to sell $2,000 worth of methamphetamine after an undercover investigation led to his arrest.
During the prosecutor’s testimonies, a detective argued that Mr. Salles also ran a Web site called bois-4men.com and bragged that he could easily upload and take down pornographic images to accommodate customers while simultaneously eluding police, records show.
Ms. Coleman said she and her client have not decided if they will appeal the sentence.
