The alleged ringleader of the Paris attacks was killed Wednesday by French police, according to two sources reached by the Washington Post.

The Post reported that more than 100 police officers and solders engaged suspected militants in a seven-hour siege that resulted in two deaths and a handful of arrests.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian extremist, was located after investigators followed leads that he was located north of Paris, and was plotting more violence, the Washington Post reported.
