Name: David Blackburn Age: 55
Occupation: UTC Athletic Director
Hometown: Loudon, Tennessee
When David Blackburn’s not making big decisions like hiring head coaches, he’s welcoming University of Tennessee at Chattanooga alumni and fans to campus or out in the community representing the school. A Tennessee native through and through, he is no stranger to collegiate athletics and academics, and his two-decade career at University of Tennessee gives him a great start as he begins to lead the Mocs.
? I grew up in a home of educators. My father was a longtime high school coach and obviously because of that I gravitated toward athletics. I played several different sports growing up and wasn’t great at any of them. But I went to Tennessee Tech for the first year and played tennis there, believe it or not.
