Your Friday at a glance:

  • Weather: Partly cloudy with a high of 70.
  • What to eat (soon): A new seafood restaurant is coming to the space formerly occupied by Sofa King Juicy Burger on Dayton Boulevard.
  • What to vote on: The top stories of 2021. Chime in on what you think were the most important local stories of the year.
  • What to do: Today is the last day of school for most area children, and families will find lots to do on this weekend’s calendar of events including a Winter Break Spectacular, concerts, movies like “Elf” and “The Grinch,” and the Nooga Nutcracker.

Good morning, Chattanooga!

If you celebrate, how do you spend Christmas day? Traditionally, my family opens up pajamas and a new card/board game on Christmas Eve, and then we save the bulk of presents for the actual day.

For some Chattanooga area chefs, food plays a large role in their holiday celebrations. (At home we usually just end up with Thanksgiving 2.0.)

Chef Rebecca Barron of Hello Monty breaks from the traditional and serves seafood in her home.
