Every January, the art department of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga mounts a juried exhibit of student work. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who are enrolled in the visual arts curriculum are eligible to submit up to two pieces.
The show opens on Wednesday with an awards ceremony and reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center.
“A long-standing tradition of the Cress Gallery and UTC art department, the juried exhibit allows both faculty and students to see themselves through the fresh eye of someone outside the immediate area and independent of the department,” said Ruth Grover, curator of Cress Gallery.
