Greetings, outdoorspeople!

  • Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 87, scattered showers/ Sunday; high 91, humid, pop-up storms
  • Recommended adventure: Join the “Facebook of Fishes.” The Tennessee Aquarium and Tennessee Tech University have partnered to create an online resource designed to easily help academics and the public identify more than 400 species of fish living in more than 75 watersheds. Through easy-to-use interactive maps that integrate decades of museum records and user-reported species sightings, anyone can now locate their local watershed and see what’s beneath the surface. Learn more about the Freshwater Information Network here.
  • Most interesting thing we recently learned: The Chattanooga Sustainable Food Center has changed its name to the Chattanooga Food Center – though its philosophy remains the same: healthy food should be accessible, affordable and fairly sourced. Ready to connect with local food sources? Check out the CFC’s recently debuted Local Food Map, containing information on area farms, markets, artisans, gardens, restaurants and more.
