* Baylor: Jacob Huesman picked up 245 yards on 22 carries, scoring three TDs as the unbeaten Red Raiders finally put down stubborn Pope John Paul II 35-14 with a pair of fourth-quarter scores.
* Bledsoe County: Cody Holloway had two TD passes but Brandon Smith, on the end of one of those scoring plays, rushed for 89 yards, caught four passes for 84 yards and returned the second-half kickoff 87 yards for another TD as the Warriors moved to 4-0.
* Boyd-Buchanan: Ross Keasler was credited with 23 tackles (nine solos, 14 assists) and two fumble recoveries in the Buccaneers’ 16-7 loss to Howard.
* Bradley Central: Bradley Colbaugh blocked a punt, picked it up and returned it for the Bears’ opening TD to ignite a 38-17 victory over East Ridge.
* Calhoun: Landon Curtis completed 15 of 18 passes for 211 yards with no interceptions and TD strikes to J.T. Palmer and Alex Kirby in a 35-0 shutout of Pepperell. Calhoun improved to 3-0.
