Ask A Doctor: Can you suggest a good website (to look up something about my kids’ health)?

Q: I love Google, but when I want to look up something on the Internet about my kids’ health I’m never sure if what I’m reading is accurate, biased or current. Can you suggest a good website?

A: For pediatric health informa-tion, the best website I have found is healthy children.org. It is from the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is incredibly thorough, accurate and easy to use. They even have a great smart phone app. For information on any infectious disease, travel health and environmental health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website is excellent: cdc.gov. Information on vaccines can be especially tricky. There is an incredible amount of misinformation on the Internet about vaccines. The National Network for Immunization Information website, immunizationinfo.org, provides up-to-date and scientifically valid information.
