Balfour will stay in state Senate

ATLANTA – Republican state Senator Don Balfour wants to stay in his Senate seat.

The Snellville legislator announced March 1 his plans to seek the Republican nomination to replace John Linder in the U.S. House but days later decided he would not run.

Balfour only announced Saturday in a statement that he intends to remain in the Georgia Senate.

The 18-year Senate veteran says he’s a dedicated and seasoned leader and that he “cannot continue to make the changes that Americans need from the sidelines.”
