Appointed Quartet is celebrating its fifth anniversary with two nights of performances at The Colonnade Center Friday March 17 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 18 at 6 p.m.
“We’re a traditional Southern gospel quartet, doing some old-style, traditional and some progressive,” said Appointed member and manager Stephen Roberts, when asked to describe the group’s sound.
Other local Christian artists joining Appointed Quartet for Friday’s lineup are 2×2 Quartet, a Southern gospel group from Cleveland, Tenn.; 21-year-old Jessie Conner, a Southern gospel soloist from Cleveland; Tenn., and Ordained Ministries, composed of singer-songwriters and evangelists Greg and Catrina Headrick, from Flintstone.
“They’re a family group with a wonderful family harmony,” Roberts said of Ordained.
On Saturday, performing along with Appointed Quartet are the Hullender Family, a well-known family in Catoosa County that includes county Probate Judge Jeff Hullender; and headliner Gold City, a Southern gospel quartet based in Gadsden, Ala.
