GENERALS 5, LOOKOUTS 4

» Saturday’s road recap: Ben DeLuzio’s soft single to third base with two outs in the ninth inning scored Pavin Smith as Jackson capped a three-run rally to stun Chattanooga in the series finale. Jeffrey Baez and Smith also had RBI singles in the bottom of the ninth for the Generals (31-23), who prevented the Lookouts (29-25) from pulling into a second-place tie in the Southern League’s North Division standings. Chattanooga took a 4-2 lead in the top of the ninth, with a passed ball enabling Gavin LaValley to score to give the Lookouts a 3-2 lead. It became 4-2 when TJ Friedl drew a bases-loaded walk. Jazz Chisolm’s two-run home run to right field in the fourth gave the Generals a 2-0 lead, but the Lookouts tied the game in the fifth on a Calten Daal RBI double to left and Mitch Nay’s RBI groundout. The teams split the six-game series.
