Police in Athens, Tennessee, early Thursday arrested two people during a burglary investigation at Classic Lanes Bowling Alley on Congress Parkway.

According to a statement issued Thursday morning by Athens officials, police officers met with employees of the bowling alley around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The employees were at the business after the burglar alarm was triggered and they discovered that someone had broken in.

Officer Casey Patterson and other officers began searching for suspects. Some time later, Patterson spotted two suspects who fled on foot, officials state. Patterson apprehended one suspect using his stun gun while other officers kept looking for the other suspect, who was located later and apprehended in a wooded area nearby.

David McCoy, of Cottonport Road, Decatur, and Gabriel O’Daniel, of Hutsell Drive, Athens, both 19, were charged with burglary, theft over $1,000, evading arrest, resisting arrest and vandalism, officials said.

Police believe there could be other suspects still at-large and the investigation is continuing.
