The foreclosure rate on outstanding mortgage loans fell 23 percent from a year ago in March in Chattanooga, according to a report released Tuesday by CoreLogic.

In March 2016, 0.5 percent of all mortgages were in foreclosure, down from 0.65 percent in the same period a year earlier.

The share of loans delinquent for 90 days or more also fell in Chattanooga from 4.4 percent a year ago to 3.41 percent in March 2016.

Chattanooga had a slightly higher rate of delinquent loans than the U.S. as a whole, but its foreclosure rate was still below the national average. CoreLogic said.
