When it’s time to throw out the Christmas tree, don’t.

Instead, recycle.

Chattanooga and Hamilton County recycling centers are accepting live trees at their recycling centers through the end of January.

In addition, Chattanooga residents have the option of putting their live trees at the curb and placing a pickup request through the city’s 311 system.

Call 423-643-6311, email 311@chattanooga.gov or use the CHATT311 app. If using the app, choose the “Brush Collection” option and describe your request as a live Christmas tree pickup.

City residents can have artificial trees picked up at curbside through 311 as well, but must ask for a “bulky item” pickup.
