Most German shepherds aren’t fond of water. But Tracy Buchanan’s 3-year-old shepherd, Elsa, takes to water like a 1200-pound tadpole.
“I can’t keep her out,” Ms. Buchanan said. “I have a pond next door, and she always wants to jump in. And when I take her to my parents’, it’s hard to keep her out of their pool.”
The fact that Ms. Buchanan’s parents aren’t crazy about the idea of having this big dog in their pool makes matters a little difficult, Ms. Buchanan added.
But when they’re alone, things go swimmingly.
“I love to take her to the beach,” Elsa’s mistress said. “She loves the ocean, and we swim together.”
