SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD RAIDERS

Head coach: Todd Murray (first year here and overall)

Returning starters: 7 offensive; 6 defensive

Key players: DL Chris Ambriz (6-2, 330); QB Ethan Hill (6-0, 160); WB/DB Chandler Dyer (5-9, 160); TE/DE Jeric Gann (6-1, 220); FB/DE Jose Herrera (6-3, 240).

Team strengths: Coach Murray’s initial team, which is playing a nonregion schedule after an 0-10 season, will be built from the inside out. Three of the five offensive line starters return from last year, and the defensive front, led by Ambriz, Gann and Herrera, should force opposing offenses to think twice before running up the middle.

Team concerns: As good as the lines are expected to be, the skill positions are lacking in experience. The team is changing offenses from a spread to the wing-T, which will likely take a few weeks to implement. Although a decent number of starters return, the biggest concern is depth on both sides of the ball.
