EVENTS
– Doggie egg hunt: This inaugural egg hunt for dogs, originally scheduled for April 8, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. April 13 due to unfavorable weather conditions. It will take place at Prof Powers Pup Park, 27 Slack Road in Athens, Tenn. The park will have separate areas for small and large dogs. Dogs must be nonaggressive and kept on a leash. Handlers will be allowed to pick up the eggs as their dogs sniff them out. Prizes will be awarded. “Most dogs are great hunters so hunting Easter eggs should come quite naturally, particularly when the eggs are filled with dog treats,” Brianna Baker, program coordinator for the Athens Parks and Recreation Department, said in a news release.
