Each new year brings new tasty trends.

Last year, according to BBC’s “Good Food” column, food fads included tacos, low-alcohol drinks, pickles and ferments.

Foodies are now making their trend forecasts for 2018, and their predictions are as bountiful as optimism in January. Here’s to hoping we see some of these come true:

No-alcohol drinks. Like craft cocktails, but without of booze, these blends feature premium tonic waters, simple syrups and botanical mixes.

Hawaiian food. Like sushi, but prepared in a bowl rather than a wrap. Also known as “poke bowls.” Also known as “Yes, please.”
