The historic Summerville Depot is festively decorated and Santa and his helpers are ready to greet passengers when the Summerville Santa Special begins its runs between Summerville and Trion, Ga., this weekend.
These 75-minute rides are scheduled Nov. 25-26, Dec. 3-4, Dec. 10-11 and Dec. 17-18, with departures at noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Sundays.
Passengers will be transported inside an enclosed, climate-controlled train car from Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, enjoying caroling, storytelling and light refreshments. Santa will walk through each train car to pose for photos.
Tickets are $18 for ages 2 and up, and children will receive a special memento.
