Greetings, outdoorspeople! And happy Thanksgiving!
- Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 60, few showers/ Sunday; high 60, rain likely
- Recommended adventure: Celebrate the season “Under the Peaks” at the Tennessee Aquarium. Through Dec. 31, the aquarium will inspire wonder with festive decorations, holiday music and seasonally themed programs, including scavenger hunts, IMAX screenings, and Miguel Wattson, the aquarium’s now-nationally famous tweeting eel, as the official tree lighter. Learn more here.
- Most interesting thing we learned about nature this week: The Chattanooga Zoo is upgrading its hellbender building. The spanking-new Hiwassee Hellbender Research and Education Facility will feature a lab, classroom and, of course, a new hellbender exhibit. Follow the zoo on social media for updates on its grand opening.
