Modest Mouse booked at Track 29 in March

Modest Mouse is coming to Track 29 on March 10. Tickets, which will be available at www.track29.co or by calling 423-521-2929, will go on sale Friday, Feb 13 at 10 a.m.

The indie rock band, which took its name from the Virginia Woolf story “The Mark on the Wall,” was formed in 1993 in Washington state. Their debut album was called “This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About.”

Critics loved “The Moon & Antarctica,” released in 2000 and fans loved 2004’s platinum-selling “Good News for People Who Love Bad News,” which produced the hits “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty.”

The album and “Float On” were both nominated for Grammy awards.

Guitarist Johnny Marr of The Smith’s fame joined the band in 2006 and appears on 2007’s “We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank,” the band’s first No. 1 on the U.S. charts. It contained the hits “Dashboard,” “Missed the Boat” and “We’ve Got Everything.”

They later recorded with Big Boi, and have become a popular act on the festival circuit.

Admission is $45 in advance and $50 day of show.
