Iraq is a very painful, distasteful, frustrating, expensive – and deadly – subject for Americans.
We have been involved in Iraq for more than seven years, with more than 4,400 Americans killed, and many more of our soldiers wounded.
There unfortunately is no “end” – certainly no “victory” – immediately in sight.
And now the Iraqi defense minister says U.S. military forces will still be needed in Iraq till 2016 – and U.S. aid at least till 2020!
That is not a pleasing prospect.
