A visit to the upcoming exhibit at the Jewish Cultural Center Gallery will bring back familiar childhood memories for those of the Jewish faith. For non-Jews, it will provide an education concerning the ceremonies and events experienced by young Jewish children.
“Growing Up Jewish” opens June 21 and continues through July 23.
“In the Jewish culture, the rituals and traditions surrounding childhood are often marked by celebrations, illustrated texts, fabrics and objects created by each child in order to better understand his or her culture and religion,” said Ann Treadwell, program director for JCC.
