Charging station has few customers
One important fact was missing from the recent TFP article about VW being forced by the government to build charging stations.
The station at the Walmart in Ooltewah is about a mile from my home, and I’m in the store or passing by almost daily.
I watched the building of the station and the patrons since. I can testify that in the past six months, I have seen a total of just one car parked in the units being charged.

Middle class should be wary of Democrats
The liberal Democrat far left has finally succeeded in completely hijacking the once proud “Party of the People.” The thanks average Democrat voters got for their allegiance is a choice in the next presidential primary among Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez so far, with many other insane socialists to follow.
They have espoused such wonderful gifts as free Medicare for all, student loan forgiveness for all, a guaranteed government job for all, free legal services, nearly unlimited food stamps, etc., etc. And those con artists plan to succeed by one solitary method: Encourage the uninformed to swallow their incredibly frightening swill, vote a straight Democratic ticket and hope they never find out the truth.
And how will this additional $30-$40 trillion boondoggle be paid for? Why, by taxing “the rich,” of course. And how will “the rich” respond? By curtailing their investments, laying off millions of employees and sending our record-breaking economy into a financial abyss.
And as invariably occurs, the additional taxes always somehow happen to trickle down to the middle class. Nice work, Dems.

Pray for president and all the country
A recent letter writer (Jan. 20) is so uninformed. The 800,000 people who did not get paid as a result of the government shutdown will eventually get paid, but the thousands of people dead from drug overdoses will never receive a paycheck.
And does it really matter how people come through the border? They are here, and some are killing others. I just wish everyone would check all the good things the president has done for the country.
Also, big kudos to another recent writer for the excellent letter all Americans should read. I pray for our president and the country. God bless the USA.

Know your jobs risks if you use CBD oil
Apparently use of CBD oil can result in losing your job or not getting hired.
There have been several times in the last two months I’ve needed to inform employers of drug tests positive for THC when the job applicant or employee denies use of marijuana but admitted using CBD oil.
In those cases, the person who underwent the drug screen seemed credible during my medical review officer interview.
And in all of those cases, the amount of THC detected in the urine test was just barely above the detection threshold, consistent with a very low dose of THC. This is not what I see in a person who had regularly or recently used marijuana.
The people who need to be especially concerned with this information are those who ingest large amounts of CBD hemp oil on a regular basis.
Some reasons why CBD hemp oil users might fail a test are:
1. The CBD product is mislabeled or improperly processed and contains more than 0.3 percent THC.
2. The user is regularly taking a high dosage of CBD hemp oil.
Caution is advised if your employer or organization requires drug testing.
