Good morning, Chattanooga!
In today’s worker climate, Chattanooga area recruiters have had to get creative.
Malcolm Harris, the director of culture and brand experience at Steam Logistics, said he looks for new colleagues everywhere – even when out to eat.
“ABR: Always Be Recruiting,” he said with a laugh in an interview. “I’m always handing out cards. In fact, I recently ran out of cards. I need three or four more stacks.”
According to Hudson Brock, who recently launched Allhire, a firm that finds tech talent for Chattanooga firms, times have changed.
“It used to be, ‘Why should we hire you? Why do you want to work here?’ Now it’s, ‘Hey, can I have two minutes to tell you why I would love for you to work here?'” Brock said.
Now for some recent stories:
NEW SCHOOL: Remember when students and community members expressed their concerns last year about the condition of the Tyner middle and high schools? Last week, the Hamilton County Commission officially approved a multimillion-dollar contract to replace the aging facilities.
HELPING HAND: After she was diagnosed with cancer, family and friends are rallying to help Shannon Fuller, the boss at Chattanooga’s Zarzour’s Cafe.
