The Brainerd/East Brainerd Chamber Council will hold a brainstorming session at its Nov. 23 meeting to discuss how to best help members as well as the community capitalize on its local presence and services.
“We’re just going to try to be a little more comprehensive in planning and try to do a little more than basically have meetings and exchange business cards,” said Chamber Council president Lanny Witt. “We want to go a little bit deeper than that to see what we can do to help members develop their business more. How can we help our members develop our area? What can we do to improve our footprint?”
The meeting, which be held from noon until about 1 p.m. at
the Car Barn, will ask participants in small groups to brainstorm answers to a variety of questions.
“We will adopt a new plan by June,” Witt said, noting that the Chamber’s membership year runs from July to June. “We [currently] have basically a business plan-type thing. We’ve always had one of those. It’s fairly brief. Our council is growing. We’re trying to find our niche and see what that looks like for us and the area we’re in – what challenges and unique opportunities do we have?”
