NASHVILLE – Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney of Lookout Mountain today was re-elected to the GOP’s top slot, easily turning back a spirited challenge from former U.S. Senate candidate Joe Carr.

Devaney received 47 votes to Carr’s 17 in the Republican State Executive Committee vote.

GOP State Executive Committee members re-elected Devaney to another two-year term at the party’s helm.

Carr had promised to “bridge a growing divide” and said he was best suited to “bring the Republican Party back together.”
