Teacher pay, Hamilton County’s school facilities, school vouchers – these are among the top 5 education issues that local leaders say will be important topics in Tennessee this year.
Check out the Times Free Press’ top 5 education issues to watch in 2020.
These issues are slated to be hot topics at both the local and the state level.
Sen. Todd Gardenhire, R-Chattanooga, recently told the Times Free Press that he plans to push for a “definition of a public school teacher” during the legislative session this year and Lt. Gov. Randy McNally said he believes education will be among the areas receiving extra money this year.
Across the state line, Georgia faces some of the same issues that Tennessee does and will be focused on similar issues.
