The Middle East was unstable enough without the latest threat by Iran against U.S. naval vessels that might enter the Persian Gulf, from which much of the world’s oil comes.
The Obama administration has said it will ignore the threat, and our Navy is capable of keeping oil-shipping lanes open if Iran starts a military confrontation.
But wouldn’t it be wise to develop our own nation’s energy resources more fully so that these types of actions by radical, oil-exporting regimes would have less effect on oil prices and, by extension, on what we pay for gasoline.
