Timothy Neal, 44, was charged with domestic violence-simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia today after the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a well-being check at 4221 Autumn Lane.
The police department had gone to that address to check on an adult female allegedly assaulted by Neal.
Upon arriving at the residence, police officers were able to tell that people were inside the home but no one would answer the door.
Officers surrounded the house and called for assistance from SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team.
At about 1 p.m., Neal came to the door and was taken into custody, a news release said.
A woman inside the residence had minor injuries, according to the release.
