The developers of Cameron Harbor want to expand their riverfront project to include more homes and apartments along Riverfront Parkway in downtown Chattanooga.

Nashville developer Aaron White is asking the city to rezone nearly 3.2 acres at 751 Riverfront Parkway from a manufacturing zone (M-1) to a central business zone (C-3) to build nine new town homes, 19 new cottages and 25 apartments.

In his application to the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission, White said he will use existing structures and vacant land for the new project. The latest development would be built next to a $100 million Cameron Harbor, which will include condominiums, apartments and single-family homes. The planning commission approved a zoning change for Cameron Harbor this spring.

Some existing buildings also will be demolished to make way for the newest project, according to White’s application.

The planning commission will consider White’s request at 1 p.m. Monday at the Hamilton County Courthouse. The Regional Planning Agency staff is endorsing the zoning change to allow the project.
