A 26-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 75 Thursday night, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
The woman, Dyla Francois, was a passenger in a Honda CRV traveling south on I-75 around 9:04 p.m. when she exited the vehicle while it was in the middle lanes of the interstate, a release states. The incident happened near Bonny Oaks Drive, or exit 7.
She was then struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said people who stopped last night to speak with police stated they saw a tractor trailer pass by before the woman was struck. They are still looking for the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information about the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
