Give police chief choice some breathing room
Mayor Andy Berke’s pick for police chief is David Roddy.
He has the experience, but according to City Councilman Anthony Byrd, he and a few other council members feel they need one of their own. Is he referring to African-American?
We need someone to do the job. We are all supposed to be equal so let’s choose the person with the most experience and someone who can do the job.
The remark about Mr. Roddy being a copy of the last police chief, well, that was his boss and he was supposed to follow orders.
