Mary Quinnan Whittle is constantly looking for that intangible element which creates connection. Her show at In-Town Gallery, “Relationships,” explores connections between animals, between people and between people and their pets.
“At times, the connection is in the eyes and other times it is less direct,” she said.
Through June, Ms. Whittle is displaying copperplate etchings that illustrate these relationships. Her etchings remind the viewer of images found in antique books and her respect for detail shows in the delicate lines that carefully depict her subjects.
