Born and raised in Taiwan, comedian Jason Cheny says he was “re-raised in America, toiled in Canada and soiled in a military school.”
Cheny combines nuances of life from multiple perspectives in his stand-up act that he brings to The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., Thursday night through Sunday, Jan. 25-28.
Because of his cross-cultural upbringing, his material reaches a wide range of audiences. With keen observations of heritage delivered with energetic wit, Cheny’s jokes about family, culture and society ring with optimistic vigor.
Cheny won the 2017 World Series of Comedy and has appeared on “Laughs” on Fox.
Tickets are $10 for Thursday’s and Sunday’s shows at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for either the 7:30 or 9:45 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday.
