MURRAY COUNTY INDIANS

Head coach: Chad Brewer (20-50 in seven years here and overall)

Returning starters: 8 offensive; 6 defensive

Key players: RB/LB Carson Voiles (5-10, 190); RB/DB Davis Redwine (5-10, 170); QB Kaleb Jones (6-1, 195); WR Brannon Nuckolls (6-3, 185); TE/DE Lincoln Puryear (6-3, 215); DL Tripp Long (6-1, 220); LB Wally Underwood (6-0, 190).

Team strengths: It may have not been the case in recent seasons, but this year’s team is loaded with experience. Coach Brewer has 23 seniors on the roster, and most of them played a lot as sophomores and juniors. The Indians are one of the few teams in Region 6-AAA with depth up front.

Team concerns: The loss of Cade Petty to transfer took away one of the region’s top playmakers, though Brewer expects Voiles, for one, to rise to the occasion. Several key players go both ways, so avoiding injuries to those guys is a key for a season Brewer and his staff believe could yield a possible return to the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
