Where: Cherry Street Diner, 701 Cherry St.
What: Each day features a different meat-and-vegetable special, but Wednesdays are the day when folks line up for the pork chop plate — two center-cut pork chops breaded and pan-fried to order. “They’re fresh, hot and good portion,” said owner Tony Klein. “And they taste like home cooking.” To complete the meal, pick your choice of eight sides, among which are the popular fried apples and potato casserole. Everything’s made from scratch, even the desserts, such as Wednesday’s banana pudding and key lime cupcakes made every day.
Price: $6.99 (two sides) $7.99 (three sides).
Phone: 266-4484.
Hours: 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
