NASHVILLE — Coffee County’s Joint Industrial Park Site has won state certification, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced today.

The industrial park, located in Tullahoma, was one of three additional sites the state declared as “shovel-ready” today.

It’s an important step, state Economic Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said in a news release.

“When a company is looking to locate or expand in Tennessee, they are considering a number of factors, but if our communities don’t have any inventory to offer, they will most likely be eliminated from the search process,” Boyd said.

The Select Tennessee Certified Sites program “helps our counties get a product on the shelf, and it’s not just any product,” the commissioner added. “It’s a site that is backed by vigorous vetting and a certification process that lets companies know their project can go from start to finish in a timely fashion with less risk.”

This is the 6th round of certification announcements since the program was launched three years ago to help communities prepare available sites for investment and expansion. Thirty-seven greenfield sites in 25 counties have been certified

Also designated by the department today are:

* Technology Park II at Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HAAP): Hawkins County

* Dresden Pad Ready Site: Weakley County
