After his day job at Chattem, Signal Mountain artist Grant Ferguson has little time to market his art, he said.
He currently sells his work on etsy.com as well as at Sewn to the Sky downtown. One of his most popular prints is of the “space house,” though his customers come from all over the United States.
Ferguson describes his style as abstract with a folk art aspect, as he is not professionally trained.
“I like to use as many different colors as I can,” he said.
He has liked art since he was a child, but got back into it as a hobby about 10 years ago. Ferguson said he is mainly inspired by other contemporary art, as well as wildlife, things in nature and pop culture. He works with paint and canvas, makes prints with linoleum blocks and makes collages.
