Kayla Christopher hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 3.3 seconds left Monday night at McKenzie Arena to lift the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team to a 57-55 win over Georgia Southern.
The UTC freshman guard was one of the few players able to come up with a clutch shot in the closing minutes of a tight game. Both teams put up their share of airballs late, including Christopher, but she hit the shot that mattered most.
Shanara Hollinquest led UTC with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Christopher finished with 18 points and nine rebounds.
