EPB telecom service lost some Thursday
EPB Fiber Optic service to some customers was lost Thursday when a routine network adjustment early in the day did not restore property for some EPB systems, the utility said Friday.
EPB spokesman J. Ed. Marston said the problem caused partial or complete outages for some TV, internet, email and telephone customers.
“Because the outages were sporadic and, in some cases only impacted customers if their equipment timed out, EPB does not have a certain count of how many experienced a problem,” Martson said. “But according to the indicators we have, the number of customers who were significantly effected was small.”
Most services were restored for the customers that were impacted by mid-day, although some customers continued to experience disruptions to their email that lasted into Thursday night before the service returned to normal operation.
