Seven years after its initial board approval, a proposed expansion of Erlanger East hospital in East Brainerd again is getting the attention of Erlanger leaders. Hospital trustees soon will consider the next step of the long-planned, multimillion-dollar expansion: the addition of a 24-hour emergency department at East, Erlanger’s campus on Gunbarrel Road.
