Keep believing in St. Nicholas

Whether you say Santa Claus, St. Nick, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas or even St. Nicholas, the question that remains is, “do you believe he is real”?

St. Nicholas dates back to being born around 280 A.D. in a place near what we call today, Turkey. When he was young, he lost both of his parents, who left a large inheritance to him.

He was known as “the Gift Giver” to children. St. Nicholas would use his inheritance money to buy gifts for good children who were poor or sick. He was also known as St. Bishop.

After his death, his legend endured. Centuries later, the first publication of a lithographed book in America referencing a jolly, red-suited man handing out toys is where our common image of Santa Claus came about.
