EDITOR’S NOTE: Since 2002, the Times Free Press has highlighted the top 12 college football prospects among Chattanooga-area seniors with its preseason Dynamite Dozen. The countdown of this year’s list continues with No. 9.

CALHOUN, Ga. — Hudson Chadwick’s sports loyalties have always centered on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

From rooting for running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel as they combined for 9,389 total yards and 87 touchdowns to watching his baseball idol, first baseman Freddie Freeman, raise his arms in celebration after getting the final putout of the 2021 World Series, Chadwick has been spoiled with great sports memories as a spectator throughout his youth.

However, his fondest sports memory is one of his own.

Chadwick was just a sophomore when he helped set the tone for Calhoun in the 2024 GHSA Class AAA state championship game by bursting through a crowd of defenders and breaking two leg-tackle attempts on his way to a 23-yard touchdown. His explosive run up the middle provided the opening score in the Yellow Jackets’ 20-7 victory over Jefferson at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
